NDM Story #22 - Pete Blackshaw's Digital Year in Review: From Voice Commands to Consumer Demands

Pete Blackshaw's Digital Year in Review: From Voice Commands to Consumer Demands

Pete Blackshaw, global head of digital and social media for Nestle, splurged on his first 360-degree camera this year.

Summary:
In this article the importance of digital media is highlighted, especially the convenience of checking key information through voice control such as Google now and Siri. It also shows how overly reliant people are when coming retrieving information through digital media for example online news reports.

My opinion:

There is a constant theme of how technology has developed to an extent where people tend to hold important conferences over Skype and watch their favourite TV shows “with TV embrace (on the go)”. The influence digital media has on society could be said to be bad as society is overly reliant on WiFi connections and tend to have very little patience when there is weak WiFi connections.
